Various Inside Cabins

Inside cabins is the second most important category after balcony cabins.
Booking inside cabins is the best way to save on cruise fare and cruise more often.

Inside cabins on the Anthem / Quantum of the Seas include at least five subcategories that vary by design.

1. Regular Inside Cabins. Current price categories: K, L
2. Smaller Inside Cabins. Current price categories: M, N, Q
3. Wide Inside Cabins. Current price category: L
4. "Studio" Inside Cabins. Current price category: SI
5. Accessible Inside Cabins - widened derivatives of Regular or Smaller cabins within respective price categories.

I strongly suggest that you use official deck plans on Royal Caribbean website while doing your "homework".
Various commercial websites content may be inaccurate or incomplete.

Please note that Regular Inside Cabins and Wide Inside cabins are included in the same price category L (official marketing term - "Large Interior Stateroom").

Inside cabins feature the same standard amenities that you find in balcony cabins.
However, there is a very noticeable addition - so-called "virtual balconies".
Virtual balconies are 80" wall mounted  LCD screens that display real time sights and sounds of the sea outside the ship.

1. Regular Inside Cabins

These cabins are shortened copies of  regular balcony cabins (178 sq. ft. vs 198 sq. ft.)

Inside cabins are shorter than balcony cabins: where exactly?

They have smaller sofas.

2. Smaller Inside Cabins

Smaller Inside Cabins are 166 sq. ft. (per RCI) and feature different layout with a typical for cruise ships position of the bed, and "virtual balcony" placed on a side wall.

10233 and 10633 are typical representatives of Smaller Inside category.
But their location between stairs is not typical (not recommended):

8127 Smaller Inside Cabin (price category N).
Note an interconnecting door on the left hand side.
8127 is connected with 8129.
The connection is not as smart as on the Quantum class predecessors - Celebrity Solstice class.

3. Wide Inside Cabins

Wide Inside Cabin belong to the same price category as Regular Inside Cabins.
This is confusing.

Let's take a look at deck plans.
Two Wide cabins occupy the same space as two Regular ones.
But the space is split differently creating two narrower and longer cabins or shorter and wider cabins:

Wider Insides have the same footage but feel more livable.
They have a chair instead of a sofa and more convenient bathroom.

4. "Studio" Inside Cabins

So-called  "studio" inside cabins  (Studio Interior Stateroom - SI) could be the best bargain for a solo traveler if priced appropriately.
Single occupancy stateroom, no single supplement required. Can sleep up to 2.

Again (same as in case of balcony "studio") technically this is not a studio.
This is a tiny "stateroom" with a separate bathroom.
This is one of the smallest cabins at sea - about 100 sq.ft.

These cabins do not have "virtual balconies".

Studio Inside cabin can also be booked as a part of "Family-Connected Junior Suite".
As you see in the diagram, three cabins 10232 (Junior Suite), 10228 (Regular Balcony) and 10230 (Studio Inside) can be connected into one unit through a separate vestibule (white).

5. Accessible Inside Cabins

They are widened derivatives of Regular or Smaller cabins within respective price categories.

Below is an example of an Accessible Inside cabin based on Smaller Inside Cabin category (8141):
